Bellindah and Sussie
We were at wild thingz. When the Lekota learners arrived. We played games and we were given some free time to do whatever we wanted. The cars that were supposed to take us for a game drive arrived late (30 minutes late). Sussie didn't feel very well and had to remain behind at the lodge. Bellindah saw a lot of animals before lunch during the game drive.
She first saw the black and white zebras and a giraffe. Sussie saw a giraffe too back at the lodge. Bellindah also saw ostriches and some wild birds. After lunch we went for a swim and thereafter we went to see some more animals, but this time it was the predators. We went to see the lions and the hyenas. We learned a little about them. We went to se the lions and touched them. We took pictures with them and their cubs.
It was a long day and it was fun but not for Susanne who spent her day in bed.

Today we went to church for an hour. For Sussie the church here was absolutely different from the one in Sweden. Here we dance and sing and in Sweden the priest just preach and preach then a sing then some more preaching. Bellindah enjoyed the serviced and thought it was really touching. Sussie felt a bit ill so she had to go to the bathroom for a while but the part she was there for she thought was really funny and interesting.

We were to two different museums today. The first museum was "Bakone Malapa open air museum." Sussie was with the first 15 minutes but then she had to leave because she felt really ill and nearly passed out.
The guide described how the people used to build the hut'sand showed us the different tools they used while hunting or cooking food. They showed us where the king and the queen lived and where they are buried.
The second museum was the "Irish House museum." Sussie wasn't there. Bellindah was though. The Irish House was found in 1886. In there they showed us around and told us the history about Polokwane and South Africa. Bellindah thought it was quite boring because Sussie wasn't there.

Bellindah had a lesson in the morning when Sussie arrived. Sadly it was raining quite badly so we couldn't do much. We were planning on watering the garden but we didn't need to because of the rain. The swedes where either in the teachers lounge or in the classrooms. After the lunch which was really good it was time for us to show each other our culture. The swedes sanga few songs that they sing during special occasions. They sang five different songs and did a silly little dance to the song called "små grodorna." The students from the school showed us their culture's traditional dance and read some poems. It vas really cool. Bellindah thought all the things were fine and some things a bit funny like our dance to "små grodorna." Sussie thinks so too. The swedes said goodbye to all the students in school today too. Everyone and I mean everyone wanted to take pictures with the swedes. In the bus back to the hotel some of the swedes were so sad they started to cry.

In the morning Sussie was outside in the garden watering the plants and trees with a few other swedes. Bellindah were inclass having life science. After lunch we had a football/soccer match. It was the swedes against a few students Lekota. The swedes were a person short so one of the buddies where in our team, the game ended 0-0 (15x2) - the girls played first. Then the boys played, we think it ended 0-0 too but we aren't sure because we weren't really paying any attention because everyone wanted to take pictures.
The day was funny and it feelt good to exercise a bit thought Sussie. Bellindah liked to watch the game it was to bad on one scored though.
04/03-13
Bellindah and Sussie
Today we (the swedes) were introduced to the school. It was very cool because they were all singing when we got up in front of them. After that we introduced ourselves. We walked around in all the classes and the staffroom. They showed us around in the garden and around the school. After that we started to work in the garden, digging holes for the trees and the plants. We planted a few too. It was spinach plants and some peach trees.
After the lunch many of us did a clap game that Rebecca showed us. Then we continued to work in the garden. For maybe 2 hours or so.
Sussie attended a physics class which she thought was interesting - was very different from the classes we have in Sweden. To Bellindah this was a normal day with classes and work in the garden, the only new thing was that there was white people on the school. To Sussie all this was totally new - new school, new people and a new way of seeing things - same things she sees in Sweden done in a totally different way. It was a exiting day for all of us.

Day 3: Bird and snake park
*What we did, what we saw:
We got to snake park and saw all kinds of animals from horses to fishes. At first we were not together but we found each other and continued together. First we saw the birds. There's was a lot of different types and they where interesting.
- There was an umbrella and white crested cockaroo also a cacatue. That one can talk.
- There was gooses there, white ones and brown ones.
- Red Rossella parrakeed it had less sulphur crested cocktail.
- Salmon - crested cockatua, that one made a lot of noise.
We then went to the snakes, there was many different types. There was big ones, thick ones tin ones and small ones. Some of them where very poisonous like deadly. Others weren't venomous at all. After the snakes we went to see the fishes in the auditorium. We also saw turtles ostriches emus, crocodile, horses and a few monkeys. We feed the monkeys with a banana, they were very very hungry.
We went to a second park with animals. The parks were very different especially when it came to the animal keeping. In the first park the animal lived in small and dirty cages. The animals looked unhappy and were very stressed. In the second park the cages were a lot bigger and cleaner the animals looked a lot better. Still there was things that could be improved. This is when Sussie realised how different people look at animals depending in what country you are in. In Sweden we keep animals for fun, education or for a living. In South Africa they don't keep animals for fun, they keep them because they need them in their daily lives to make a living. It doesn't matter if they can't really afford to feed the horse, they have it anyway. Which is really sad if you think about it.

What we did:
- We just walked around, looked at some stuff.
- We saw sheep's, goats and the cows. We also learned a little about them.
- Attended the Eskom workshop. It was about electricity, in the beginning it was quite interesting but the guy who was talking never stopped talking so he lost our interest very fast.
- We went to see the national symbols of South Africa.
- We didn't o much as it was raining when we got there. We talked, walked aroung and took a lot of pictures.
- We learned about the sheep breeds and cattle breeds. The cattle breeds were the brahman and the sheep's were the dormer and the mutton breeds.
How was the day:
It was a good day filled with fun. We saw some men trying to pull a monster truck. And we studied the environment.
